After Mangaholics 2009, it was time for Hero Nation. It was held at A Venue, Makati Avenue last November 30 of last year.
As in Mangaholics, my son portrayed Gilbert Nitrate of Pandora Hearts, and this time around he and some friends joined the catwalk. Here he is, at the stage, as My Hero Individual Contestant No. 84…
It was fun seeing him on the stage because he is basically a shy guy. And I am just amaze as to how his personality transforms once he dons an anime costume…
And here I am posing with my son, his cousin Rap and other cosplayers…
Next stop… Toy Convention 2009 at SM’s Mega Trade Hall B last December 20…
as Roxas of Kingdom Hearts…
and as with Hero Nation, another catwalk experience for my son…
and Marc receiving a token courtesy of Sugarfree and Blue…
the cosplayers also did a small parade around the mall…
posing with friends…
and with me…
Next destination… Otaku Expo 2010 at SM’s Mega Trade 2 last January 24 playing Noctis of Final Fantasy 13…
and here are some of my photoshop creations using the Noctis character…
Next journey… Toys and Hobbies Convention at
Robinson’s Manila last February 28, this time as Sasha of Seikon no Qwaser…
did some photoshop creations…
Marc with some of the beautiful cosplayers who attended Tagcom…
and with his friends, posing outside the venue…
and at the stage, doing the catwalk…
and with me…
and last stop (well, as of this post)… Ozinefest 2010 at SM’s Mega Trade Halls 1 and 2 last April 11, again as Sasha of Seikon no Qwaser… this time donning the correct costume…
with friend John Carl Flores as Noctis of Final Fantasy 13…
with the girls of Ozinefest 2010…
There was supposed to be another cosplay anime event last May 8, Go Kaisho, but unfortunately was moved to June. Well, I guess, my son has to wait for some more days…
Looking back at all the cosplay /anime events that we had attended, each one was unforgettable. I truly enjoyed accompanying my son to these activities… becoming his official photographer, I’ve seen his transformations. I still clearly remember how awkward his poses then, fumbling with his hands, trying hard how to project. And slowly, event after event, he found his way with my camera. He is not shy anymore , so comfortable now even when he’s being asked to strike a pose by people watching the event. Somehow, he has grown into a better person because of his passion for cosplaying. And it also became a venue for our bonding moments… and so I eagerly await for the next cosplay activity!!!
