In celebration of its 30th year, my son’s school – Our Lady of Pilar Montessori Center presented a Musical Play entitled Si Pilandok at ang Mahiwagang Manok. Through the play, the school was able to impart wholesome values to the young people of this generation as well as teaching the importance of taking good care of our environment.
We can’t take pictures during the actual play, which was held at the Insular Life Corporate Center Auditorium at Alabang last Friday, February 13. Therefore, the parents were invited to the students’ dress rehearsal conducted a day before so we can at least have snapshots of the play.
The highlights of the play can be summarized into the following production numbers….
Doxology (second year high school students)
Grace Nono’s neo-ethnic version of the famous “Amazing Grace” interpreted in a contemporary dance choreography…
My Funny Valentine (selected third year and fourth year students)
This song was used as the background music during Pilandok’s dream sequence. Rendered in love dance form, this production number depicts Pilandok’s longing for a date on Valentine’s Day. Complete with Cupids carrying bows and arrows, this number serves as a Valentine’s treat for everybody…
